Good morning friends!
Well, if you have been following along on Instagram you will have heard that along with what I’ve been doing here on this website, I will also be teaming up with Thermomix! YAY!
I feel like the last couple of months have been a real game-changer for our family. As last year was ending, I had SO many questions about what this year was going to look like! I knew it was time for me to head back into the workplace, but I had no idea where or what it was going to look like.
Then all of the sudden, we made several big decisions regarding our work, schooling for the kids (I have a child entering high school next year) in fact our general direction for life all round in the next few years seem to fall into place.
We decided as a part of that, I would start to build a business from home where I could still be available to my family and one of the key parts of that was Thermomix.
So here we are!
To be honest, I was probably always going to end up working with Thermomix in one way or another. 11+ years ago I knew I wanted one. I went reluctantly to try one out at a cooking demonstration and left completely convinced; I wanted one! Believe it or not- I ended up with not one but TWO in my kitchen! I have never looked back!
They have been my sous chefs here supporting me through every season. We easily made our own baby food for all our kids. It whizzed up muffin or cake batter in 10-seconds flat. Brought yeast to temperature perfectly then proceeded to knead the bread dough for our homemade loaves. We worked them hard through the acai smoothie bowl phase….. (gosh, I could just go for one of those now actually!)
When we discovered one of our children needed to stop all sugar and refined carbohydrates for a season; I found myself relying so heavily on those Thermomix’s! Look, sugar was one thing, but no refined carbohydrate’s?! That was a whole other beast I was not ready for! Everything needed to be made from scratch. Every sauce, Every snack, EVERYTHING! There were NO shortcuts in that season. What I would have done without a Thermomix sitting on my bench- I do not know!
We also had a child who couldn’t take dairy. If you can put those two issues together and try to make a meal for everyone, well, it was not an easy season! I thank God I had some decent food experience behind me. I was able to slowly craft a menu together using my Thermomix to assist me so that I wasn’t completely overwhelmed by the intense number of hours I spent working in the kitchen.
Then there were just the hundreds of meals, sauces, smoothies, and snacks we used it for on an everyday level. I still have the original Thermomix I received 11 years ago, and she is going strong.
When it came to signing up with Thermomix it certainly wasn’t a matter of; whether I thought it was a good product or not. I assure you at this point, I can’t imagine not having one. An oven, a frypan, and a Thermomix and I can conquer the world. Well, the kitchen world anyway.
I know from experience even the best tradesman will struggle if the tools they are using are no good. It leads to a frustrating and drawn-out experience. A good set of tools on the other hand, can help you get where you want to be so much faster and make the job so much smoother, they are worth the investment. And it is no different in the kitchen.
I’ve started this blog with a lean toward setting your kitchen up to serve you. Including Thermomix in this process only supports this bend. For those that are not on the Thermo-train yet, don’t worry, there will still be plenty here for non-thermo owners, however, I will be including here how I use my Thermomix to support this process. And if at some point you are interested in learning more, drop me a line, I am here to help!
